Lab 7
For the first lab we were asked to create an interactive simulation lesson on how to make an espresso drink. This was done using various tools that were made interactive in a drag and drop scenario. This was probably the most complex module we’ve made so far, and I certainly learned a lot on how to do this type of interactive learning module. I can see how once a projects starts that there will always be elements that can be improved to make the simulation more realistic. Next time I would like to try and make the movement of the objects more realistic with tilting and movement more similar to the real actions. I also think that some of the changes between slides could be improved as the timings and videos aren’t as well synched with the drag and drop movements as I would like.
For the second lab we were asked to create a type of training simulation that went beyond just being a video to watch. The interactivity with this type of learning module really could help a learner not only understand the steps involved with an activity, but also involve their muscle memory. They are asked to do the exact same actions as if they were using the software themselves and yet still be guided. I tried to do a training for the website https://www.instagrok.com which is a more visual way to do web searches. There are many features for using the websites so I tried to quickly take the user through some of the essential tasks to get them up to speed and be able to do their own searches.
